The town of Iwanai is located in the red-colored area called Shiribeshi in the western part of this map. About two hours drive from the New Chitose Airport and 1 and 3/4 hours from Sapporo.
With a large number of mikoshi parading through the town of Iwanai, this lively summer festival is an authentic tradition of Japan. It is held the first week of every July and August.
