Where is Iwanai located?

The town of Iwanai is located in the red-colored area called Shiribeshi in the western part of this map. About two hours drive from the New Chitose Airport and 1 and 3/4 hours from Sapporo.

Cherry Blossoms in the Iwanai Shinto Shrine, which has history of about 200 years. During the Kansei period, around 1800, the Matsumae feudal lord ordered Yozaemon Kumanoya, a contractor in Iwanai to enshrine Ichikishima Hime no Kami, the God of Water.
